Anti Aging Advice - Top 5 Steps to Avoiding Premature Aging
One of the main reasons that some people age prematurely is because they have too many free radicals being produced by their body. This then will make it hard for the different systems in their bodies to function properly and the aging process can sometimes be sped up because of this.
Free radicals normally are not bad. Actually, they are vital to a person's survival. They are mainly responsible for making the cells that fight off infections, they help control the flow of blood, encourage accurate replication of a person's DNA and help with the division of cells. But, when there is an over production of them, they will begin to start attacking a person's cells that are healthy. This process is called oxidative stress. Try cutting an apple in half and let it sit out. You know what happens, well, this is basically what happens inside a person's body when they are suffering from oxidative stress and oxidative stress is the main cause for aging.
There are things that you can do that are considered anti-aging procedures that will help to cut down on the affect of this destructive behavior cause from the over production of free radicals.
By eating a lot more fresh herbs a long with vegetables and fruits can be a big help. Eating them raw is the best way and you should try to do this as often as possible. Very few of us eat the amounts they recommend us to which is 5 to 6 daily servings. These types of food items are probably the best natural way of getting the antioxidants we all need in our diets. Cooking these foods unfortunately can destroy a lot of the benefits that are found in them.
Chemical fertilizers as well as pesticides can take away a lot of the nutrients we need from our fruits and vegetables so you should try and eat as many organically grown foods as possible. Today's average vegetables have as much as 40% less mineral content as vegetables that were grown just fifty years ago. Foods grown organically don't have this problem and generally have a lot more vitamins and minerals that our body requires.
Try your best to not make a habit of overeating. All food that you eat needs to have oxygen to be able to get to the nutrients. So, the more food you eat at one time the more oxygen your body is going to need to be able to digest it properly causing you to produce even more free radicals.
Try to avoid as many toxins in the environment that you can. Oxidative stress can be caused by such things as herbicides, processed food items, additives put into foods, pesticides, smoking, and way too much exposure to the rays of the sun.
You need to exercise in a moderate and wise manner. Many do not realize that a lot of strenuous exercising will cause your body to actually produce more free radicals, especially if you are not on a regular exercise routine. It's a lot better to just exercise a few minutes every other day or so than to go out and really over do it.
Do whatever you can to try and lower the stress levels in your life and how you react to that stress. Stress will make your body produce more free radicals than needed and it also makes it hard for your body to be able to absorb the needed nutrients to be able to make the antioxidants needed to fight the free radicals. So whenever you are facing stress try your best to handle it as calmly as you possibly can. Learn to relax.
